Creating a Greeting Card Message for Halloween

One of the most popular holidays on the social calendar, Halloween is a time of magic, imagination, and mystery. This is the one day each year when people young and old alike get the rare and luminous opportunity to become whoever they want to be, via the transformative magic of Halloween costumes; convene with friends and family members at parties that are scary fun; and, of course, indulge in lots and lots of candy (hey, on Halloween the calories don’t count!).

How to Create the Perfect Card - Examples

Here are some ideas for Halloween messages to suit a variety of people and scenarios!

For a Child

Halloween ranks as one of the most kid-friendly holidays on any social calendar. Kids love to play dress up, go trick or treating, and enjoy school and home parties this time of year. They also would love to receive a warm, funny and meaningful greeting card from a caring parent, grandparent or sibling—well, not as much as they’ll love all that tasty Halloween candy, but you get the idea!

  • (For a small child) Happy Halloween to my favorite little goblin!
  • (For any child) Live your dreams on Halloween. Do you want to be a super hero? A police officer? A doctor? A Hollywood superstar? An athlete? Be who you want to be today—just be sure to stay the same great kid that I know and love!
  • (For any child) On Halloween, my child, just be assured that I will keep all the ghosts at bay—all goblins, monsters and beasties, I vow to keep away. Just know, though, that if you eat all that Halloween candy in a single day, a stomach ache’s the only thing I just can’t keep away!
  • (For a teen) Chill out and chillax for a chilling Halloween!
